Improving Alzheimer’s, One Connection at a Time

64,000 individuals

Nevadians with Alzheimer’s will occupy the seats in our Allegiant Stadium by 2025

This staggering number has sparked a strong desire to make a difference in the world to the best of our abilities. Regardless of limited knowledge, skills, and medical expertise, Forget Me Never Foundation, along with the youth of Nevada, can make a change in the lives of those with Alzheimer’s, and that is what this nonprofit seeks to do.

ALZHEIMER’s DISEASE

A progressive condition of the brain and the most common cause of dementia – the gradual deterioration of one’s cognitive, mental, language, behavioral, and social skills, eventually interfering with one’s ability to carry out daily life activities.
There is currently no known cure nor fully understood cause due to their complexities. Currently, the most accepted and developed explanation of Alzheimer’s involves two substances: amyloid and tau. When the chemical balances in the body become unstable, amyloid plaques and tau tangles accumulate within healthy brain cells. Neither can be removed or broken down by the body, and they eventually cause neurons to stop functioning, lose connections, and die, ultimately deteriorating part of the brain. These physiological changes soon equate to physical and mental changes where one experiences problems with memory and thinking.
Alzheimer’s is one of the most prevalent neurological conditions that affects people of all demographics, ethnicity, cultures, religion, gender, and socioeconomic status.

OUR GOALS

Forget Me Never Foundation seeks to empower the youth of Nevada to support our beloved community of individuals in memory care facilities who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. Youth will graciously volunteer their time to improve our affected population's memory and mental functioning/capacity.

Forget Me Never Foundation will facilitate connections between volunteers and the seniors they are matched with by supplying the facility with puzzles and other mind-stimulating, interactive activities that our volunteers can do with your patients to connect with them, build bonds, and ultimately brighten their day.

Furthermore, this nonprofit organisation will seek to educate people of all ages about this condition in order to combat Alzheimer's and impel others to take preventative measures that can contribute to the future longevity of the human race as a whole.
